NLN Partnership Products

  • vSim for Nursing is the result of a collaboration between the NLN, Laerdal Medical, and Wolters Kluwer. Each vSim series (med-surg and advanced med-surg, gerontology, maternity and pediatrics, health assessment, fundamentals, pharmacology, and mental health) features 10 virtual patient simulation scenarios that allow students to access curriculum resources and practice patient-centered care for a variety of patient cases that simulate real nursing scenarios. vSim for Nursing includes integrated curriculum resources, pre- and post-simulation quizzes, and guided reflection questions.
  • vrClinicals for Nursing is a unique, virtual reality solution specifically designed to help students develop their skills in prioritizing care between multiple patients while also managing interruptions in care. This immersive technology allows students to care for patients in a busy nursing unit while being challenged with common changes in patient status and distractions in their day. The product is a collaboration between Laerdal Medical, Wolters Kluwer, and the NLN.
  • Laerdal Scenario Cloud offers NLN simulation scenarios for use with full scale manikins. Scenario Cloud is a digital library that offers expert-validated teaching content from clinical professionals such as the American Heart Association and the National League for Nursing. Simulation nurse educators can search and select scenario content that matches their curriculum to provide high-quality, hands-on simulation experiences.
  • SIRC Courses offered through the Simulation Innovation Resource Center (SIRC) prepare nurse educators to design, implement, and evaluate the use of simulations in nursing education. A new NLN SIRC series of reimagined online courses, Foundation and Deeper Dive Courses, have been designed to provide a scaffolded approach for nurse educators to achieve the professional development needed to curate the skills that enhance the simulation learning experience. These new reimagined on-demand courses are designed to help nurse educators expand their skills in teaching with simulation and meeting the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) Simulation Guidelines.
  • NLN Press expanded the scope and reach of its publishing through its partnership with Wolters Kluwer. As the exclusive distributor of print and e-books for the NLN, Wolters Kluwer provides market development and production support for NLN titles. As always, topics and authors are determined by the League in consultation with members to ensure that the content meets the needs of nurse faculty.
  • Nursing Education Perspectives, the NLN’s peer-reviewed research journal, is published by Wolters Kluwer, a leading international publisher of professional health information. The NLN and Wolters Kluwer combination of outstanding scholarly content and top-flight health information marketing broadens the reach of the research in nursing education found in NEP. A dynamic journal web presence supports the mission of the NLN and the needs of NLN members and NEP subscribers. Articles are available in multiple formats – on websites, smart phones, and tablets.
