Missouri League for Nursing -Technology in the Classroom Using a QSEN Framework
Technology in the Classroom Using a QSEN Framework
The purpose of this presentation is to explore various Web 2.0 and 3.0 tools that are free or inexpensive, user-friendly, and learner-centered to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the QSEN competencies for both pre-licensure students and graduate students. Information shared will be especially useful for educators teaching in an online learning environment. Participants will be actively guided in the exploration of various tools that can be used to meet individual competencies, as well as tools that can be used to create assignments that meet multiple competencies (e.g. wikis). Differences in Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 tools will be discussed and educational applications will be described for multiple formats, including video sharing, blogs, wikis, group collaborative sites, and social media. Specific examples will be given and participants will be encouraged to identify methods that could be used to meet student-learning objectives within their courses.
