Esmira's passion for innovative teaching methods and commitment to enhancing nursing education have guided his career, with expertise in simulation-based education.
As a consultant, she has guided nursing programs through the complexities of simulation integration, curriculum development, and accreditation processes. Her expertise includes creating and implementing high-fidelity simulation scenarios that align with national standards, ensuring nursing graduates are prepared for modern healthcare challenges. She works closely with faculty and leadership teams to refine debriefing practices and enhance assessment strategies that promote critical thinking and clinical judgment.
In 2022, Esmira was selected to participate in the NLN Sim Leaders Cohort, an intensive program designed to develop leadership skills among simulation educators. This experience enhanced her ability to lead innovative simulation initiatives and share best practices with fellow leaders in nursing education. Through this program, she expanded her professional network and collaborated with educators equally passionate about advancing simulation in nursing.
During her consulting role at Rutgers University School of Nursing, Esmira collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to identify curriculum gaps and develop targeted solutions.
Throughout her career, she has presented at various conferences on topics including Neurographica, mindfulness in simulation, and the integration of holistic practices into nursing curricula. These presentations have inspired educators to adopt more comprehensive and reflective teaching approaches.
Esmira integrates Neurographica into pre-debrief sessions to enhance reflection and emotional processing for both educators and students. This creative drawing technique allows participants to visually express emotions, thoughts, and experiences related to simulations, fostering deeper introspection and helping individuals navigate complex feelings that arise during scenarios. By incorporating Neurographica into the pre-debrief process, she creates supportive environments where participants are more open to discussing their experiences, leading to richer, more meaningful debriefing sessions that promote growth, empathy, and self-awareness.
As an educator and consultant, Esmira is committed to driving innovation and excellence in nursing education. Her vision centers on empowering nursing educators and programs to utilize simulation and other innovative teaching methodologies to cultivate competent, compassionate, and holistic nursing professionals.
