About Us
Scholarships & Research Grants
We are proud to be the leading member organization providing scholarships specifically to nurse educators. With your help, we have more than doubled the annual funding for scholarships and research grants in the past five years and provided more than $1 million in funding over the last decade. In 2025, we awarded 21 scholarships & awards, with a total of $144,697 given to nursing students across the nursing education spectrum. Your support, in addition to our partnership with Edmund Pajarillo, Amy Nichols, Health Carousel, and TruMerit, directly helped these students.
Meet the scholarship winners:
The NLN’s research grants program supports rigorous, high-quality pedagogical research studies. You helped nurse educators receive $75,000 to advance the science of nursing education by contributing to our endowment funds and making donations to the NLN Foundation.

Advisory Council
To bridge the gap between education and practice, the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education formed our Advisory Council in 2016. The council consists of members from all sectors to provide expertise and guidance to the NLN Foundation.

Last year, our council welcomed three new members representing industry-leading organizations. The NLN Foundation continues to evolve and grow thanks to the leadership and kind donations given to support our mission.

Fit for the Future
The NLN Foundation hosted its Fit for the Future 5K event in September. The Super Educator theme honored the heroes in our nursing education community. The event raised over $50,000 to support the NLN Foundation. The vibrant atmosphere and overwhelming community support combined to create a memorable and successful experience, establishing a strong foundation event while making a significant contribution to the community.
Charitable Giving
In 2025, the NLN Foundation earned the support of our members and together we gave $13,890 to various organizations such as the American Nurses Foundation, ANERA, Direct Relief, Feeding America, the National Academy of Sciences, the National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurse Associations, Nova Ukraine, and World Central Kitchen.
