We are proud to be the leading member organization providing scholarships specifically to nurse educators. With your help, we have more than doubled the annual funding for scholarships and research grants in the past four years and provided more than
$1 million in funding over the last decade. In 2024, we awarded 17 scholarships and a total of $114,645 to nursing students across the nursing education spectrum. Your support, in addition to our partnership with Edmund Pajarillo, Amy Nichols, and Health Carousel, directly helped these students.
The NLN’s research grants program supports rigorous, high-quality pedagogical research studies. You helped nurse educators receive $70,000 to advance the science of nursing education by contributing to our endowment funds and
making donations to the NLN Foundation.
With the generous support of our NLN members, the NLN launched a brand-new scholarship in 2024, the NLN Steve Cerame Nurse Educator Scholarship Award.
This scholarship honors our former Chief Financial Officer and his 26 years of service to the National League for Nursing and funds up to $8,000 annually to a future nurse educator in a master's or doctoral program.
To bridge the gap between education and practice, the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education formed our Advisory Council in 2016. The council consists of members from all sectors to provide expertise and guidance to the NLN Foundation.

Fit for the Future
The NLN Foundation hosted its Fit for the Future 5K event in September. The event not only triumphed in turnout, with over 100 registrants, but also demonstrated its profound impact by raising over $13,000 to support the NLN Foundation. The vibrant atmosphere and overwhelming community support combined to create a memorable and successful experience, establishing a strong foundation event while making a significant contribution to the community.
Charitable Giving
In 2024, the NLN Foundation earned the support of our members and together we gave $10,175 to various charities such as the American Nurses Foundation, Friend of the National Library of Medicine, American Red Cross, Nurses House, AARP, Nova Ukraine, and World Central Kitchen.
